About Us

National Service Society has the history of beginning of its community outreach services by the year 1982 in association with Community Aid & Sponsorship Programme, Mumbai. The initial focus of the activities was on children and families of underprivileged background. Later the collaborations got expanded by adding projects and programmes in the area of geriatric care, housing, sanitation, community health, waste management, SHG’s, livelihood, women empowerment, child rights, human rights, entrepreneurship, training etc. in association /co –operation with Governmental agencies, LSG’s, foundations and corporates. National service society as a separate entity was registered in the year 2002.

National Service Society– Ashiq Educational Alternatives and Community Health Service Society is the professional service wing of College of Social Sciences and is accredited, supported by and associated with various State, National and International organizations. The NGO render professional service to help the comprehensive and integrated development of individuals and communities. It has extensive spectrum of activities such as Child Centered Programmes, Community Health Programmes, Natural Resource Management, Child & Human Rights Programmes, Entrepreneurship Programme, Corporate Social Responsibilities, Training Programmes and Student Exchange Programmes.

  • The Head Office of the Organization is situated inside the premises of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery.
  • Other offices of National Service Society are located in Kalamassery, Kalpetta, Malappuram, Moolamattom, Perumbavoor, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Established and registered under Travancore – Cochin Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955.
  • National Services Society holds FCRA Registration (No. 052850501) and Exemption under 80G (5) (VI) of the IT Act (CIT/CHN/12A/Tech-11/2002-03 dt 27 -3 -2008).
  • Empanelled as service provider of Solid Waste Management Projects (Biogas Plant & Composting Unit) in Community and Institutional level. Order No. 2674/2015

  • As part of the Civil Society Partnership & Accreditation of NGO’s Social Justice Department selected National Services Society as one of the accredited agencies in Kerala as per G.O. (Rt) No.111/2016/SJD
  1. To organize developmental projects in the area of social education, community health and sanitation and implement rural development programmes in various villages in India for the development of marginalized sections of the society.
  2. To conscientise people in the area of Gender Justice and empowerment of women and other weaker sections of the Society through various awareness generation and action reflection programmes.
  3. To work for the welfare of farmers and agricultural workers and to develop model farms and eco – friendly farming practices.
  4. To undertake Research studies and Publication in the area of social development.
  5. To organize training for various groups for Human Resource Development in schools, colleges and communities.
  6. To facilitate field based studies, action research and involvement of social work students in the various programmes and projects of National Service Society
  7. To subscribe or give donations to and financially or otherwise aid any other charitable, social or educational institutions or societies and to give donations for any public purpose.
